Let’s agree on one thing, Kenya is beautifully talented in all aspects. The question is how do you know this and yet you ain’t a part of it.

I will easily give you my heart even though you don’t need it. I can’t help but narrate, paint, write a poem, sing or draft a couple of bars expressing how it feels to go through a human experience. You probably read and feel but! am sure you don’t go beyond that. It’s well-cooked food but what to do once you have consumed it.

I know! you never really thought of that. Right? How do I know this? Am human too. So many times do I see a beautiful painting and probably go crazy for a few hours or days. It could take weeks if it’s a song. Like GRUDGE by Maali or HEAVEN by Clark Keeng. Anyway, you get the point which is, GO BEYOND.

My neighbor’s daughter heard me play the violin in my house and got curious. She asked if she could touch. To see the glow in her eyes when she learned how to hold the bow and place her chin on the violin was priceless.

Am not complaining. You are probably doing this and a bunch of TikToks as well not leaving behind your Instagram reels.

Am only telling you to go further than just enjoying yourself. Don’t be a fan who only enjoys that one hit song then goes around telling everyone that you are a die-hard fan. Be a fan who chooses not to listen to gossip, a fan who does not encourage or fuels hate. A fan who decides it’s wise to buy art from KENYAN creatives. A fan who is not comparing Kenyans with the rest of the world because we are most definitely not the rest of the world. Kenya is as rich as no other piece of land and right now, it is as potent as a w**d cookie. So go, let the world see how beautiful and gifted Kenyan creatives are through your eyes, your socials, and your lifestyle. Don’t just be Kenyan. Be a proud Kenyan who is aware of what being proud means.

Matatu culture is ART IN MOTION just like the dancers. Also, have you watched NI SISI the Kenyan movie? Ama bado unasema hakuna movie noma za Kenya.

If not, you fail as a KENYAN citizen. Just like Ezekiel.

Are you sure you are a complete fan?

Yes/No

If yes, then Go beyond.

I am Kahuni, African for days.
